Prayer Mandala Ceremony

  • SAGRADA 4926 Telegraph Avenue Oakland, CA, 94609 United States (map)

Join us in giving things like leaves, flower buds, pine cones, and feathers, that have fallen of their own accord, a second life in our ritual prayer mandala. We’re focusing on the spirit of forgiveness in this temporary art form and invite you to add your prayer to ours in what we wish to forgive and release to Spirit.

Is there something in your heart that is beckoning to be released? We believe that forgiveness is the first step toward peace. Whether we feel the need to forgive a perceived wrong-doer, ourselves, or even our greater community for causing a wound to us, forgiveness at its core is an act of opening the heart so that we may continue to live and love freely without fear. We invite you to join your heart with ours by bringing any found natural objects that you’d like to contribute to our shared mandala.

Why not cut flowers or pick leaves from a plant for this? We simply wish to express this prayer using things nature Herself has released and gifted to us. This can be a collection of pine cones that have fallen from a tree, leaves that have browned and been shed to decorate the street, even flowers that have fallen from the bush with their dark spots and shrunken petals can be given a second life in this mandala. This is meant to be an expression of gratitude for what nature has given us and a silent prayer for what we too wish to release.

This is a free community event. No RSVP is needed. Simply show up with an open heart.

We hope to see you there!
