The prayers, music and movement all culminated in a communal rite of anointing, drawing upon Magdalene's main attribute accorded her in art throughout the ages, her jar of anointing oil.
With a simple gesture, anointing oil was pressed into our palms as one would press a seed into the earth, reminding us of our oneness with the created world.  The blessing given was to plant a "seed of hope" within each one of us, knowing that the change we long for in our world, the healing of the people and the planet will come through the actions each of us take up in our daily lives.
